Host an exceptional event with the Vins des Chevaliers

Domaine des chevaliers salle de dégustation

The Domaine des Chevaliers offers sporting, culinary and cultural activities based on wine, for families or businesses.

Located in the heart of Salgesch, a wine village between Finges and Sierre, Domaine des Chevaliers offers a fascinating discovery of the Valais wine-making tradition.

A closer look at the Domaine des Chevaliers

The estate was taken over by Patrick Z’Brun in 2008. This passionate mountaineer had the idea of combining oenological traditions and advanced technologies to make the best wine possible.

His approach was rewarded many times over and the estate’s wines were selected by Swiss Air to accompany its passengers’ inflight meals.

Things to do at the estate:

The winery offers various group activities:

  • Cellar visits and a wine library.
  • A tasting as well as an introduction to the best kept secrets in the area.
  • Wine & Bike, which combines wine culture with a little exercise. Take an electric bike and discover the trails around Salgesch to learn more about the mysteries of the area.
  • Various exhibitions throughout the year: gourmet trips to discover the local grapes while enjoying a fabulous meal.

The wines of the Domaine des Chevaliers

The estate’s vineyards are bathed in sunshine throughout the year, and grow on limestone soil. As a result, the wines are powerful and distinguished:

  • Among the best known is Petite Arvine, a characterful wine with saline notes.
  • The more discreet Chevalier Blanc exudes notes of peach and apricot. It is a very balanced wine made from a blend of three grape varieties, and a perfect pairing for fish dishes.

Sherpa wines, the estate’s favourite.

Patrick Z’Brun’s own personal favourite is undoubtedly the Sherpa Rouge, a powerful and highly structured wine. Sherpa wines are a tribute to the Nepalese carriers who helped Patrick Z’Brun to climb the highest peaks in the world: the Himalayas. On his way down, he decided to offer his modest thanks to these men without whom his achievement would have been impossible.
