Welcome to the winery Domaine Villard & Fils

Discover the history of Domaine Villard & Fils

This has been an artisanal family winemaking business since 1617, and currently boasts five hectares under vine. It is located on the Anières slope, 12km from Geneva on the south bank of the eponymous lake. The vineyard enjoys a westerly exposure; it is on a slight slope and is tempered by the lake, which provides protection from frost and makes a huge contribution to very good grape ripeness. The terroir is formed from fluvial glacial alluvial soil and is very gravelly, which allows the very aromatic wines to express themselves with great structure and plenty of personality. With gentle farming methods that preserve the natural balance of the useful local fauna and flora, the estate’s practices are close to being organic.
