Romain Haglon, Francine Gabella and Patrick Fonjallaz welcome you to Clos de la République in Epesses. The estate is made up of 35 hectares of vineyards stretching from Epesses, Calamin, Dézaley to Saint-Saphorin and the Château du Châtelard vineyard in Montreux.
The estate dates back to the late 16th century. It is currently run by the 13th generation, making it one of the oldest family-owned businesses in Switzerland.
In the oldest cellar of the winery, you will discover the 7,000-litre tuns which surround one of the most important tuns of the canton, containing 32,000 litres and is decorated with sculptures inspired by Roman mythology.
On the walls, there is a gallery of portraits of famous people who have visited the winery and enjoyed the wines of the estate, such as: Charlie Chaplin, Michel Houellebecq (Goncourt Award 2010), Charles Duke (10th astronaut to walk on the moon), amongst others.
